Common Ground on the Hill Festival
Summer school in Maryland. Christina taught classes in 'Singing Traditional Scottish Songs' in the mornings, and 'Gaelic, Irish and Scottish Song' with Nuala Kennedy and Tom Smith in the afternoons, with the Celtic session and Big Song Swap in the evenings. Common Ground on the Hill has a fabulous range of classes on offer "celebrating the common ground of the traditional arts" including drama, dance, yoga, spoken word, canoe building and a vertiable plethora of instrumental tuition. Eden Court Theatre
Eden Court, in Inverness, offers a wide variety of classes and courses for all ages. Christina has taught acapella singing for adults, traditional playsongs for tots as part of the Scrambled Arts programme and lullabies in evening classes as part of Eden Court's programme.
Fèis Gleann Albainn
The Fort Augustus-based Fèis Gleann Albainn run two fèisean; one in February for adults and one in the summer for youngsters. Christina has taught regularly at both.
Fèis Rois activities are centred on the Scottish Highland shire of Ross, but often expand into neighbouring parts of the Highlands. Christina has been on the staff at Fèis Rois in various roles working at 3 age groups of fèisean (Junior, Senior and Adult) in Ullapool, Gairloch and Dingwall; teaching weekly evening classes in Easter Ross and YMI-funded school visits in Ross-shire, Inverness-shire and Inverness itself.
Swannanoa Gathering Celtic Week
Christina taught classes here re 'Song in Scottish Oral Tradition' in the mornings and 'Scottish Gaelic Song' in the afternoons. The week featured classes, potluck sessions, concerts, jams, dances and more. The Gathering is a prestigeous summer school with tutors from supergroups Lúnasa, Danú, Ossian, Solas, Battlefield Band, Turtle Island String Quartet, The House Band, and Cherish the Ladies.
